bids/proposals for the following properties:
Water Street, Tax Map 2- Lot 19 1.37 acres

9 Morse Avenue, Tax Map 15- Lot 72 .22 acres and buildings

84 Elm Street, Tax Map 10- Lot 13 .48 acres and buildings
294 Water Street, Tax Map 2- Lot 14 1.89 acres and buildings

Each bid/proposal must be in writing and in a sealed envelope marked "Tax Acquired Property
Bid” and Parcel #1 , Parcel #2 , Parcel #3, or Parcel #4 on the outside of the envelope. Separate
bids will be required for each parcel. Each bid/proposal must be accompanied with a deposit
check made payable to Town of Guilford in the amount of $1000.00 (One Thousand
Dollars.) Unsuccessful bidders’ checks will be returned uncashed.
Walk-throughs to view the properties may be scheduled by request as follows:
Parcel #3 – May 19, 4:00 PM, May 25, 8:30 AM, June 15, 8:30 AM.
Parcel #4 – May 19, 8:30 AM, May 25, 4:00 PM, June 15, 4:00 PM.
All bids/proposals must be delivered to the Town Office located at 4 School Street, Guilford,
Maine 04443 no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5 th, 2011, or mailed to Town of Guilford,
P.O.Box 355, Guilford, Maine 04443 and received prior to the above deadline. The town will
make no allowance or provision for delayed mail delivery. Late bids/proposals will not be opened
Each bid/proposal must be submitted individually on a form provided by the Town of
Guilford. All requested information on the form must be provided. The form requires
that the bidder state the proposed use of the property and the time frame for completion.
Bid forms are available at the Guilford Town Office. This information will be part of the
criteria the Board of Selectmen will use for evaluating the proposals and the Board of Selectmen
reserves the right to include such details in the purchase and sale agreement for the property.
Bids/Proposals will be reviewed by the Selectmen at Guilford Municipal Building on Tuesday,
July 5th, 2011, at 7:15 p.m. at their regular meeting. The Board of Selectmen reserves the right
to reject any and all bids. If a successful bid/proposal is named at this meeting the bidder and
the Town will proceed to enter into a purchase and sale agreement for the property and the
deposit check will be deemed non-refundable and shall be applied toward the purchase. The
successful bidder will also be required to execute a Municipal Notice & Acknowledgment form
waiving any legal action against the Town of Guilford. No warranties or guaranties can be
granted by the municipality to the successful bidder. The Board of Selectmen reserves the right to
negotiate with another bidder should the sale not be completed within 60 days of the successful
bidder being named. The property will be conveyed by a quitclaim deed without covenant.
The tax maps and other public information concerning the property may be reviewed at the Town
Office during its normal business hours which are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
