River Fest Link

Now more than half a decade old, River Festival has become one of the area's Signature Events! Activities include Live Music, Little Miss Lilac Contest, Craft and Food Vendors, Chili Cook Off and much more.  Join us on the last Saturday of July!


Pirate Rec

Organized by involved and engaged parents on a district wide basis to have baseball, basketball, cheerleading and soccer teams and games, Pirate Recreation promotes self-confidence, leadership, respect, loyalty, the importance of teamwork and a sense of community in our area youth.

Summer Rec

The Summer Rec Program is a 7-8 week (5 mornings/week) program of activities for the 5-12 crowd, designed to provide physical activity, social setting, interaction among peers; and to prevent boredom. They play organized games and go on field trips to Peakes-Kinney State Park, bowling, mini-golf, etc. The town hires a director and he sets up the schedule and the trips.  The Town pays for expenses such as golf, bowling, transportation or other expenses.  Students will get a sign up form in school some item late in the school year.

Leaf Peepers

For the ultimate leaf peeping experience, you can't beat northern New England!  In fact, you can follow the best colors from the Canadian border all the way through the Connecticut River Valley.  We hope you'll find yourself in the Maine Highlands enjoying mulled cider and Mother Nature's most spectacular fireworks show!

Athletic Fields

Guilford's commitment to fitness and an active lifestyle continues right in the heart of town, where you'll find state of the art, well maintained recreational fields.  More facilities are in the planning stages, including a skate park!

River Walk

Guilford Memorial River Walk was created by a collaboration of business and community interests, there are verified sightings of Bald Eagles, Osprey and Blue Heron along this stretch of the Piscataquis River. Picnic tables and benches make this a perfect quiet place to stop and stretch, and enjoy a relaxing break under a verdant red oak canopy along the riverbank.


Boasting a 2909 yard, 9 hole course and very affordable greens fees, Piscataquis Golf Course is another centerpiece of community in Guilford.  Hosting a variety of events and tournaments throughout the year, the course is a perfect complement for your active life!


Flying Dutchman Paintball offers the largest field in the entire state!  From casual players to serious tournament competitors, there's something for everyone.

Fish / Hunt

Some of the country's finest hunting and fishing is available right here in Guilford.  With great accommodations available locally, Guilford is a great base camp for all your outdoor adventures.

Hike / ATV / Sled

Piscataquis County is criss-crossed with premier, well maintained Snowmobile and ATV trails.  Guilford and Piscataquis County is home to many active clubs and organizations that work year round to insure the trails are always in top notch condition.

Kayak / Canoe

The mighty Piscataquis River provides great opportunities to kayak, canoe, fish, swim or just generally enjoy the river as it meanders through it's way through Guilford.  Guilford even provides the launch point for the annual Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis Canoe Race!

Yard Sale

It wouldn't be summer in New England without Yard Sales and Guilford certainly holds it's own.  Watch for our Anual Town-Wide Yard Sale, usually held in July.

Harvest Fair

Still going strong well into the Fall (Just in time for Leaf Peeping), the Guilford Historical Society hosts it traditional Harvest Fair each October.  A day filled with history, food, antique appraisals, a supper by donation and much more, Harvest Fair should be everybody's to-do list!


When it's time to wind down and enjoy some quiet time - where better than the Library?  Guilford's library is located in the heart of town with spectacular views of the Piscataquis River.  Comfortable great chairs and friendly and knowledgeable staff make the Guilford Memorial Library a great place to wile away an afternoon.

Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis

Volunteer opportunities abound in Guilford, from clubs and groups to community service organizations, you'll have no trouble finding an outlet for whatever spare time and energy you have left over!  Here are just a few:
